i dont understand how minorities will complain about not getting FAIR treatment, but then blame everything on race. Affirmative action was a great idea back in the 50's and 60's when it was hard for minorities to get into colleges. But now its just dumb, ya know, were to the point where your academic performance should be the only basis for acceptance into a school. Im not trying to start a race war or anything, God knows societys got enough problems, but there are all kinds of support out there for people who want to go to school that have other ethnic backgrounds.

The arguement for affirmative action here is that even if the admissions proccess is totally race blind inhertenly more white upper class will get into college. This is simply because they can afford private schools or generally live in neighborhoods with better schools. Therefore they get the degrees, stay at the top of the socioeconomic ladder and the cycle repeats.

unfortunately kermi, you make a good point. Although like i said there is a lot of financial aid out there for people of minorites. But like you said some poeple just dont get a fair shot
