    Doctor Who

Who remembers it? Wasn't it just the coolest thing ever?

I just downloaded a stack of episodes from Kazaa. It seems so primitive yet when I was a kid it was the scariest thing going.

Who needs top notch CGI images of alien spaceships etc. Just get a box on wheels and a synthesized voice!! Daleks Rule!!

It is still played on Maryland Public Television in the DC Metro area (channel 22 if you have COX Communications Cable) every Saturday at around 11:00 or 11:30 at night I think. It comes on right after Red Dwarf, now there's a good Sci-Fi comedy show!

Yeeeeeeeeess Red Dwarf, what a show!! Unfortunately I live in England and despite our terrestrial TV companies making these shows, they no longer broadcast them.

How can they not broadcast that show in England anymore, it doesn't make any sense. Well, according to the official Red Dwarf website , they now have season 1 available on DVD for about £14.99 (don't know what that is in US $). So, buy that and you will be able to enjoy all the smegging goodness.

Are you suggesting MineSweeper has committed a thought crime? He's in trouble now.

Well if they would put it back on telly I would watch it. But they don't, they fill our channels with junk causing me to look elsewhere for quality programmes. Besides, if it was made by the BBC and I posess a TV license, then surely I haven't infringed any copyright?!

    >No way I remember watching it as a kid and thinking it was ok, then they made the fatal error and re-run it in 1999 (I wonder why? ) and it was truly appaling.

Have you re-watched Doctor Who lately? At least Space1999 has got some really fit lassies in it, remember Miya? Also the space ships look technical sound, not like a flying telephone box.

    >But best of All: Joe90, Thunderbirds (are GO!) and my personal favourite (the Indestructible) Captain Scarlet

All these were made by Gerry Anderson, who also, by the way, made Space1999.

    Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.

... and Stingray and FireBall XL5 and SuperCar and Four Feather Falls, (all older series).

The live action UFO to, but that was a bit different. Gerry later made another series called TerraHawks, (I think), but was a last gasp.
