Nero CD recording take long time

    Hi people,
I used CD Creator software to copy or burn my CD before but it was suck with many errors. I have download the Nero CD burner
software last night and try to copy some data CD and I took me
45 minutes to copy/burn a CD. Although it works perfectly without
errors, but I took too long to copy a CD like this. Does anyone know what cause to make such a long copying. Does it involve with setting/configuration is not right?Do I need to disable or setting some options of the software in order to copy faster?
My CD-RW drive(E has speed with 12x8x32x and CD-Rom with
    16x.
Also one thing bothered me that during copy it went thru many
processes such as after finish burning CD, it went thru "data
verification" process. What the heck of this "data verification"?
Is there any place in Nero CD Speed or Nero DriveSpeed I go in and turn on/setup or disable some options to make CD copying
data or music faster instead waiting forever loop.
Your help or advices are grateful.

I have the latest nero, and it takes me about 3 minutes to burn a cd (40x12x48 Aopen). Burned a cd for about 10 hours once. The source disk was damaged. (Have buffer under run protection).

Did you burn form your hard drive or from a cd to cd?

I burned from CD to CD. Actually, I am trying to copy data(not music) from a CD to other blank CD.

    Is the source disk damaged/scratched?

No.. No, everthing copying is OK except it took a long time to
record a CD. (45 minutes), and I thought this Nero CD software suppose to manage to record CD fast, but it was kinda slow.

    Maybe thats your problem.

As I said, I burn audio or data round 3 to 4 minutes (650-700 Megs)

Have you tried making a CD with data from your hard drive? If you haven't, try it and see what kind of time you get.

EDIT: I have a 16x8x32 burner and Nero. It takes me about 4.5 minutes to copy a full 700MB CD.

Yeh it is weird that. I use nero and like the other posters it only takes 3 mins per full disc. Mine is a genuine registered copy mind you. May that make a difference? I dunno

Cant see making a mirror on HDD changing the fact it took 45 MINUTES though.......

    Good luck

Oh yes-whats all that verification stuff? My version is 5.5.8.2

It just does on the fly or mirrors..

Which bit took the longest? ie checking original disc/burning/preparing cd ready to use etc?

Well, the transfer speed of the HDD to the writer is propably faster that the transfer spedd of the cd-rom to burner

Taking into concern that the time it takes to make image must be excluded from the total time.

    [EDIT]

Mine is a genuine registered copy
    May also be a cause?

Do you have "test & burn" enabled?, or just "burn"?

The HDD to burner speed will be quicker, but the point is not 45 MINUTES quicker!

Other question..hmmm test and burn-I shall go have a look..

    test and burn
Because of my "buffer runder run" protection (built into writer), I cant select Test/Test & Burn, only burn.

o went and got the Burn 'n' Go software, and it works fatser than nero. though sometimes the stuff burned sometimes doesn;t burn properly, but that dont happen too often.

then my brother kicked my burner and it dont work no more.
