What the purpose of moderator?

Hi All,
What's moderator?
How does moderator election process?
If a person win in moderator election, what kind of encouraged award will offer to him or her?
How many times per a year, Cprogramming.com hold for moderator election?
What kind of qualifications for a moderator candidate should have?
Can I nominate someone by observation their deep knowledge
an willing to provide best accurate solution to the questions on
the board, especially to someone who provide quick and usefull answers to some tough questions.
How can I nominate them?

A Moderator edits/deletes/moves posts that are against the rules or questionable. He/She is the babysitter(lmao) of the forum, making sure order is kept.

The moderator elections is to choose a new moderator, and the reward is these same powers.

I don't think u can nominate anyone, just vote for Fordy.

One task is to stop people from cross posting
When all else fails, read the instructions.
If you're posting code, use code tags:
/* insert code here */
So, it seem to me that it's not democratic and fair election, isn't it?
People wil not able to nominate their favorite candidate???

You should vote for who YOU think is worthy.

Nominations took place a couple of weeks ago. There was a thread in GD where everyone was given the opportunity to nominate anyone.

a person who has the power to make the forum a cleaner place.

there's a general need for a new moderator, then kermi3 puts up threads nominating, then voting for a moderator who will then become a new mod.

there's no award. just the mod position.
How many times per a year, Cprogramming.com hold for moderator election?
whenever we feel like it. it's not a regular thing
What kind of qualifications for a moderator candidate should have?
S/he should be able to control his/herself, clean up the boards, be patient, etc...
Basically, act sane.

when someone posts a thread showing a possible moderator position opening, you can nominate someone.

Even though ygf alrdy did a great job...here's my crack at it...

What's moderator?
A person, usually elected by the board community, who works to ensure that the board is a friendly place, helps answer questions (often via PM), helps to contribute to the development of the board and other random duties as they come up.

How does moderator election process?
This question and the previous one are answered best here:

How many times per a year, Cprogramming.com hold for moderator election?
There's no set schedual. The bottom line is when I convince the webmaster that one is needed heh. No really, it is when the webmaster decides that a new one is needed, or current mood is leaving and a replacement is needed. However, by precedent so far that is once a year.

What kind of qualifications for a moderator candidate should have?
The webmaster puts no restrictions on it, however we have never had a moderator who was not a long time member of the board (usually senior member) who is obviously respected by the community.

Can I nominate someone by observation their deep knowledge an willing to provide best accurate solution to the questions on the board, especially to someone who provide quick and usefull answers to some tough questions.
You can during the nomination process, but that is over now. If you have a question about someone specifially PM me, they may have turned down nomination.

How can I nominate them?
There will be a sticky thread on the GD at the time of the next election.

Any questions ask here or PM me...

moderator - minimalist, reserved, peaceful, help keep the atmosphere friendly... some would think ultimately it's up to you how you feel about them... don't take a second look about any 'politics' going on around here if you want not...

moderator - waste not, want not...
