Talking and we have a winner!!

ok, so I did a search, with the keyword "the*" figuring that should probably be in about every thread created... and I sorted it by "number of replies"..

And currently, the thread that Series started is at 538 posts and 3800 and some odd views...

the next closest is 318 replies by a thread started by doubleanti.. that's a 220 post difference!

an easier way is setting the number of threads to all of them, and clicking on the "Replies" title.
but you're right. weird...

although the difference is 224 posts now.
notice how the highest post-getters are polls?

I see Series hasn't posted in ages either (well a good few days anyway). Do you think (s)he finally got round to topping 'emselves, and that thread is their legacy?
When all else fails, read the instructions.
If you're posting code, use code tags:
/* insert code here */
That's cool, I go to some forums (different subject matter of course) where 2,000 replies is the norm. We actually have one thread that has 13,457 replies (27,000+ views) and still going strong. Of course that board has over 100,000 members and usually over 500 logged in 24hrs a day so that makes a big difference.

Yeah - no-one's long thread killed the old board for a little while... I think I started the longest thread on the new board (besides Series's), before the thread mysteriously disappeared....

(either the Terrorism thing or the 4 word story)

>what forum is THAT?<

Probably a CS forum. My friend goes to a CS board that has around 100K registered members and always has like 1,000 logged in at any one time.

Forums like that are just way too big for me...
