    >>> I heard robots are programmed in basic?

I would imagine there are examples of robots that have been programmed in just about every language, (although COBOL would be an interesting/unusual choice).

If your interested about getting into robots maybe a good choice would be a HandyBoard. The reason why i suggest this is because it allows you to program in C or IC...

Robots can be programmed in many languages, usually C and/or assembly is used.

When you buy a programmable robot, it will come with an interface which allows you to communicate with the robot using your PC. This can be a simple download box, which you can use to download your software into the robot. Or a complete debug interface with serial communications facilities which allow you to debug the robot using your PC.

    >anyone here ever program a robot?

At university we programmed a simple robot using a kind of assembly which was specific for that robot.
