Because drivers with a automatic transmission are seen as lazy. Automatic transmissions are for people who are disabled and can't drive otherwise. No real driver would give away the right to choose his gear at any time

hier, sie sind teuer. vielleicht da drueben der Preis ist nicht so hoch.
Im Europa der Preis der Autos mit automatik ist nicht so hoch mehr als frueher. Vielleicht hat das damit zu tun das ein Auto mit automatik ein wenig normal geworden ist. Ebenso wie heute fast jeder neuer Auto eine Klima, elektrisch bedienbarer Scheiben usw. hat. Auch Navigationssysteme sind heutzutage ganz normal.
Mein Hut hier hat drei Ecken.
Ich fahre ein automatik. Nicht so viel fahren Standard.

Did you notice the americanization of german words ?
ausspammen. to spam is an english verb. aus-spam-men is the german form of said verb if it were german.
We do this all the time. Especially in computer related fields:
