    >I'm merely disapointed in some of the attitudes being irrationally expressed

Then rationally shoot them down, instead of whining about them.

That was pretty good Commander lol.

Except it was under British rule that the land of Canada burned down the White House.

Then rationally shoot them down, instead of whining about them.
Couldn't agree more, Sorensen. Stating that your tiresome of all of the 'crap' that is being posted in this thread is just as useful as all of the 'crap' that is being posted in this thread.

Yeah, but me posting crap about my tiredness of people posting crap about their tiredness of all the crap makes me the king of crap.

    >>Nobodies forcing you to read anything

But yes... we are moderators... to know what is worth moderating, we have to read it all.

No, I'm sorry. Nobody is forcing you to read anything, moderator or not. If however you choose to read something that needs moderating by all means close the thread. Unless your roles of moderators have extended to moaning about the content of threads (in which case you've a few to catch up on)?

    >>Nobody is forcing you to read anything, moderator or not.

No, nvoigts point is correct. Though not technically 'forced' to read anything at all, we are obliged to as we wouldnt be very good at moderating if we didnt.

    >>moaning about the content of threads

I wasnt moaning about the threads topic, which is valid. I was simply trying to make a point about the level of rationality in it. I have never taken issue with intelligent conversation on any side of any topic. Ever. Any carefully considered argument is worth at least a listen IMO.

    >>Then rationally shoot them down, instead of whining about them.

Allow me to reitterate; I'm not taking issue with the topic at hand, nor any particular opinion expressed. I'm taking issue with the less than enlightening method of language being used.

You'll also noticed that I havent taken sides in anything as its all been convered before. Which makes this comment "Are you Canadian? ", a pointless one.

    Hope I cleared that up.

    True.

    >I wasnt moaning about the threads topic, which is valid.

    Nobody said you were.

    > I was simply trying to make a point about the level of rationality in it.

To quote yourself from this very thread -

    "Lighten up, man."

    "Its just a joke guys"

Are you sure you're not Canadian?

    >>Are you sure you're not Canadian?

Do defend those quotes I'll have to point out that the first one was actually directed at the 'canada ownz' poster who was obviously taking this way too seriously. The second quote was refering to the joke i posted which was... well.. a joke. Hence the rather eloquent comment "its just a joke". Not sure whats confusing about that. To answer your question, yes, I am Canadian. I still fail to see where I've displayed any geographical favoritism in this thread which means I still fail to see the meaning behind the question. (?)

Nothing. It's just humour and rationality don't often mix.

    > yes, I am Canadian

    Thought so.

To clear a few point...i started the thread..so i know...

I am sick and tired of viewing anti america posts on the site...i have stated i am not american, indeed im from England (not UK).

I have visited LOTS of fantastic US treasures (cities/towns/middle of god damn no-wheres etc) and met lots of people.

I know enough about economies and strategies to apprerciate the US achievements.

I was expecting argumentetive posts in relation to my thread, but all i got was canada v america.?!

Come on guys, read the anti american posts and they are full to the top of middle east/anywhere in the world i hate american scum posts.........

Now, we in England ARE an ally of the US-does this make me biased? NAH bollox to that..I am going on what my own eyes/ears have picked up.

Moderators even have a mention in my thread too..(wow)...as they correctly pointed out there is no need to 'moderate' any of the posts..not yet anyway..

And as for the members saying its old ground....not really as this is the opposite of most other threads...

And besides, i am not stirring crap, just REALLY fed up with anti US posts

YES I would ask the same if ppl slagged of Canada too....one of the most beautiful places on earth.....I would live there in a shot (if i was rich/didnt have to work/was 10 yrs younger/had broadband access in the hills lol)

The point? US and Canada are really friends........hehe - a bit like me and the WELSH/SCOTTISH.
    Such is life.

    >>Nothing. It's just humour and rationality don't often mix.

Oh, okay, I see. I suppose rationality wasnt the exact word I was looking for. I was intending to refer to the unwarranted agression. Apologies for the confusion.

    >>Thought so.

My profile reveals this dirty little secret.

    >>The point? US and Canada are really friends

And as I'm sure you're all aware, friends like to rag on each other in good humour. Its practically expected. We're all pretty used to it (on both sides of the dotted line).

And now I bid you all a good day as the beer is cold, and the sunshine is calling. I'm in much too lighthearted a mood to continue any serious discussion.

    Cheers

What's GREAT about America? That's Easy--
    ----------------------------------------------------

    1) We are more powerful than anyone else
    2) As the lost tribe of Israel, we live in the land of Milk & Honey
    3) God is on our side
    4) Our currency means something
    5) Our language (American English) is the most concise
    6) We invented most everything of any value in the world today
    7) Our women are the most beautiful in the world
    8) Our food is better than anywhere else in the world.
    9) Our country is cleaner than anywhere else
    10) We own Hawaii-- the most beautiful place on earth (Kuwaii to be exact)
    11) Despite the influx of "multi-cultural society and ethnic diversity" which continually tries to tear America apart, we survive.
    12) We consume more resources than any other country (we are a consumer nation), and support 27% of the rest of the earth population with what we do with such resources.

I just wish that ethnic persons who come to America or who are born in America, wanted to be Americans. They should divest themselves of the culture they left and the language they left and _become_ Americans. If they don't, they are still just so much foreign interest wanting $$$ handouts.

    13) We invented the roller-coaster. The hot-dog, baseball, and more.

    14) Even despite our generosity and kindness, the middle-easterners want to harm us. And yet, we feed them, we clothe them, we teach them how to bathe. We education them, we quash evil in their midst. We are the red cross organization for the world.

    15) Unlike most other nations and peoples, American's bathe regularly, brush their teeth, and generally make themselves useful and productive.

    16) Even though muslims and arabs are jealous of America's success (how is it that God can favor us with such good continual fortune in spite of the fact that we are the infidel?), we do not hate them. Perhaps we are _not_ the infidel.

...The list is just endless about how great America is. And, finally, as socialism continues to fail in Europe, Europe is becoming conservative.

    1) they make wars between other nations.
    2) devil is on US side.
    3) Copied most of the invented stuff (and called their own)
    4) Begged Russians to share Aerospace technology.
    5) Food is the worst in the world (try Canadian)
    6) Dirtiest country ever in the world (Canada is the cleanest)
    7) We "americans" are racists.
    8) Baseball suxs (play Hockey or Basketball)
    9) We support Israel, and call helpless Palestenians "Terrorists"
    10) Americans have caused most of the manslughters to occur.
    11) People would be peaceful if America did not exist.
    12) We have always killed muslims. ( we americans are afraid of muslims being developed)
    13) We are racists.
    14) We do not want Muslims (because they are peaceful)
    15) We have intentially killed (CABADIANS) in Afghanistan
    16) We bombed Red Cross buildings in Afghanistan intentially.
    17) We killed Muslims after 9/11 attack in the(non-racist country called America)
