Well they didnt qualify for the world cup prior to France 98, and if the home team wins a world cup, they or fifa, I dont recall, makes a profit around 100 million dollars. After their performance this year, maybe soccer even has political issues to deal with.

France can't defend something? Must be a mistake.

Rumor said that the 98 final was a fixed match.

yeah, could have been, but they won the European Champs in 2000...

I think it's because most of the team members were old, so they've had all the success they wanted. Therefore, this WC weren't such a big event for the french players, so they didn't give everything...

    Did that make sense?

Could be. They weren't hungry anymore for new succes. Perhaps also their clubs pay a role on the background. Those clubs pay millions of dollars for their players and want them to be ready for the new competition-season and perhaps the Champions League or other UEFA cups.

There is a simple explanation to this; France wasn't hungry.

Many of the players in their team have already won it all.

    It's as simple as that.

ya, if the players are old, that means they have somewhat experience.........and a team like Senegal, with all the young players.....i mean atleast score and try to keep themselves into the game........but world champs who couldn't score a point = priceless
