    >>Wasn't that "event" at the end of the Italy/Croatia game weird?

Yes. That linesman better never go near Italy (he disallowed two goals). Is there a rule in soccer that the ball has to be touched in the attacking half?

Some of the umpiring has been very inconsistent. Turkey (after the Rivaldo incident) asked for their umpire to be changed but he umpired their game anyway.

I like Spain from the form I have seen. Good on Japan for winning their first WC game.

The TV coverage is good here except the matches start before I get home from work. The popular ones are unfortunately on comercial TV not the govt TV (no ads).

I've watched replays of that several times now, and I am now quite convinced that should have been awarded a goal and the Italian number 23 in his own half of the pitch credited with it.

The other incident also looked like a goal to me. I agree with you, the Italians were cheated out of two goals. However, if you watch carefully the build up to the goal that was given, the ball quite clearly goes out of play and Croatia should have had a throw in - again, the linesman seemed to miss that.

There has been quite a lot of interest in the linesman here, as it turns out, he is Danish!

    Denmark 2 - France 0.

What can I say!!! France go home without scoring a goal. I'll be honest, they always looked like they might score, but they didn't.

    Croatia 2, Italy 1

Everyone says, that Vieri was offside, but he wasnt, the first Italian to strike the ball, went past the Croatian defender before the ball got to him. The second goal, you have to be in the view of the linesman to call this, but the Italian player who looked like he struck the ball past the goal keeper, pulled down a Croatian player to get that chance. Although he didnt touch the ball, it is almost impossible to see that from the side lines.

    France 0, Denmark 2

Enough said, I dont like the French!

Can't see much of the games, only summaries in the evening the sport programs on TV. Hope the World Cup will be closer to Europe next time, so I can see games live in the evening. Perhaps football is next time going back to it's roots: England, that would be great. And hopefully also the Dutch will be present then. But I don't know, they are playing so weak the last few years.

What a second half from Uraguay v Senegal! Either side could have won it in the last five minutes. But as Uraguay kept Aust out I can't be too sad seeing them go home.

    Go the Irish!

How many cards in the Cameroon v Germany game? Germans are looking strong. Portugal is also starting to fire up.

Italy was cheated out of a Win, that Linesman must have been bribed. Now Italy, a PowerHouse, are left fighting to get to the Round of 16.

... You'd think they'd hire the best linesmen for the World cup ?

    LOL

I just hope Argentina reach the next round. France is already out and if the Argies dont move then I'll have only Brazil and Germany to root for These 4 were my wishlist for the semi-finals.

    >>> Portugal is also starting to fire up.

They looked much better in the second game.

    >>> How many cards in the Cameroon v Germany game?

That was a colourful spectacle wasn't it?!?! Bright flashes of yellow and red every couple of minutes. Mind you, red and yellow are the colours of the Spanish flag, perhaps the, (Spanish), referee was being patriotic? I agree, the Germans look pretty solid at the moment.

Well, well, well. Argentina, the favourites of the favourites didn't make it through round 1!

Looks like that fat cocaine addictive, who came all the way to Japan, couldn't help you out with the hand of god this time!

You cried for us Argentina, even though we've asked you not to! Duh!
