the many wonders and challenges of Doom

Well...a few months ago I decided to go through every single Doom episode (Ultimate Doom which is all 4 Doom episodes and Doom II) and beat them all on ultra-violence mode.

I did it and I was proud of myself, and I was like, "woohoo! I am an expert Doomist!" There were some pretty freaky moments too. Let me tell you, no matter how old Doom is, you can really feel like you are there at several moments, and you get pretty scared when you know something is around that next corner.

But anyways, then I decided to go through them all again and beat them on Nightmare, a feat which I am sure very few have been able to accomplish. So far I am on the special level military base on Episode 1.

However I have been sidetracked now because I found out about Final Doom, which is two more Doom II episodes which I must now complete....so today I started the 2nd episode of Doom II, the Plutonia one. Well....I hope my expert Doomist experience pays off...because it's already getting freaky on level 1 when all I have is a shotgun by my side and I am going up against 5 skeleton dudes with rockets....

dang this is fun....and to think, i'm gonna have to beat this on nightmare once I get to it...if I ever do...nightmare is gonna be scary on some of these levels...

How far has anyone here gotten on Doom? Anybody managed to beat any episodes on nightmare? Let's have a purely Doom discussion.

To paraphrase Aran Elus: "Doom owns your house, your family and your dog."

I've never actually tried to beat the game on Nightmare. Its not exactly a fair difficulty (it even says so). Beat everything else tho. Started making my own levels way back when 'cause the game was too easy. I'm sure everyones messed around with doomcad at some point? I went back and had a look at some of them a few weeks ago... Holy crap, I used to be a lot better than I am now.
