why do people such as stevey frequently write questions like this
[insert question here] ???
(i would emphasize the space, but you can't bold a space)
can someone explain to me why there is a space and why there are almost always three question marks?
i just can't seem to figure this out.
the three question marks are to make the questions stronger.
like:
#1. do you understand this?
#2. do you understand this???
#1 makes the point, but it makes the reader feel that the writer is just asking you if you understand. but #2 shows that the writer himself doesn't understand it and assumes that no-one else does either...
so, there is a slight difference, but nothing much.
i would have thought it was like...

anyhow.... why is ther a space between the last word of the sentence and the '?'s?
(i knew what they meant and why you'd use them, i was just wondering why people use the space)
sometimes i'll use " !!! " to meen that i'm shocked or something like that, and " ??? " if i don't understand.. but i use them alone, not after a sentence as punctuation.
How can somebody care so much about such little things ??? ;)
