Did you always do your homework? I didn't. Besides, people don't learn best form books, they learn better from other people. And better still from doing, usually under the supervision or guidance of others.
After K-6 the student gets a booklet that details the different areas of work that are availible and/or best suited to him/her. Using the booklet, the student would go out and buy the resources that he/she will need to learn, and learn at his/her own pace.
Where's the money coming from?
Now, there would of course be teachers that you could hire to help you learn x or y, and there would also be places where you could go and work on your skills (a machinery shop, a forge, etc.).
