    unclean machine :(

    I just did an online virus scan, i dont have nimda but i did have two instances of a trojan called anonmail.a , it was reported as uncleanable so i had to delete them.
    Anyone know of this virus, where it came from, what it can do

    I've never heard of that one but I think Nimda is a lot worse. I had a hell of a time getting rid of Nimda.

    anonmail is a type of thing where people can send you emails totally anonomously, and basically they pretty much just send you viruses all the time.

    thats the one i udes (post above) but i dont remember downloading any anonymous amilers and i am the only user.


    So far im clean from Nimda

    I ran that virus checker and it said I had one file infected by Nimda, so I deleted it and looked for the other signs of infection (readme.exe, eml files etc) but counldn't find any. I then ran the Symantec Nimda fix tool and it said it could find no trace of the virus. Strange .

    well i had a similar exp with a trojan ( i was testin NAV i had already frapped it manually) i had to update twice before it got it all.

    secondly who know's the capabilities of the virus it may not always use that form of infection...
