It's 4 bits - 1/2 byte.
(fyi, I got this from webopedia - it's a pretty sweet site if you have more questions like this)
Nibbles.....
bytes.....
Those early coders had a good sense of humour.
Ta for the quick reply.....cheese, sorry cheers
Easy to remember... one of the funniest things I ever had to learn
for ASM :p
Take a register, B for example:
EBX = 32 Bit
BX = 16 Bit
BH = 8 Bit
There are two nip... err... nibbles in a BH.
( If you can make sense of my rumblings, great, if not, it probaly
lost all of it's meaning in the process of translating it...
especially if BH means not the same thing in your language
as in German *eg* )
So... as nv leaves us hanging.... what does BH mean in German?
Big Hooters??
bwahahhahahahahahhahaa!!! you have a dirty mind Fordy.
Brustwarchen heiß?
Sure, it's backwards and probably wrong, but gimme credit - they don't teach the good stuff in classes :p
>BH
I imagine it's some kind of sausage. Some kind
of little sausage that takes 1 bite to eat,
perhaps? Germany is filled with sausages.
Close, quite close :pQuote:
Big Hooters
You'd probably call it a bra. See if it makes sense now ;)

Yes... it's Brustwarzen, but that gets partial credit ;)
( Hope I don't get the second moderator to be moderated *g* )

ooh ooh ooh,.... that's something I would say!!! [emphasis on the 'i', as i put it in capital!]
which mod got moded on. nv? [hope it wasn't me and i didn't realize it...]
I think I read a post of Govt saying he got, but he didn't
seem to mind too much, so it might have been a joke...
oh yeah, soemthing like that... but i didn't see anything like a /* blah edit by blah*/ somewhere in the post...... care to elaborate govt?
Sure, I said some choice words to ehsiq, and rick suggested half-jokingly that I moderate myself... I decided to do it before I got some serious complaints.
Wow! I actually got one word halfway right! Woo-hoo!
Would the "h" be whatever's German for "holder", or smth like that?

You're in a weird mood today, aren't ya, stealth? :p
Stealth has the friday feeling that I will get today at 4pm when I finish work
How'd ya mean? Yeah I think its the Friday feeling, that and I might get $290 AUS this weekend for some work that my neighbour offered me.
Just your colonel klink thing, and paw programming and smth else that I could go check.....
Anyways - kinda funny.... never mind.... ::climbs back under rock::
Well I'm not half as peculiar as doubleanti :D
>Well I'm not half as peculiar as doubleanti
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let's not get out of hand! I don't know how I could have ever made you think that! No way are you close to that strange! :p

Indeed, the 'h' is for ...-Halter ( holder ) in German *eg*Quote:

That's what I thought :D
I thought halten meant to stop, tho....
Yes, 'halten' means to hold as well as to stop.
Both meanings could be applied to the 'h' of BH, but
I think only the first one is intended :p
OK, thanks for clearing that up... :)
