Why are people just now realizing that the world has been on a steep slide into the abyss for some time?

Humans are inately evil - that is we all have an ielement of evil resident in us from birth. We all have th capacity to become the next most evil person on earth, just most of us dont.

face it - all humans are evil in one way or another.

An old phrase comes to mind. "Whatever goes up must come down."
The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.

It isn't a matter of the world is sliding into hell, it's simply the fact that novelty is less than it used to be. In fact, some crazy coworkers of mine are blabbing about novelty and time stopping in 2012. If only I could get them to shut up and bad those damn groceries like they're supposed to.

It's really depressing. I don't know how many people think about it but some really terrible things could happen and you could be diseased and dying next week. The threats are significant. I'm having some trouble with this world. I'm disappointed. Not sure if things are going to be okay, but the thing is that good people can't do anything about it. I was looking forward to my future and than all of a sudden tragedy. I hope things will pick up again and the government can come up with a plan that will root out people who break laws and conspire against peaceful individuals just trying to get along.

    I quote Ghandi
Live as you would die tomorrow. Learn as you would live forever.
It sounds good but it's a really tough act to follow.

there you go... but for some reason i refrain from memorizing that more elegant quote... probably because if i bother to tell people about the idea, i'd like to relate it to them... anyway, oh, and i don't think it's tough to follow at all! granted, i'm still quite young, and my lifestyle hasn't been swished so much... but if i _ever_ am forced to changed it such that i am unhappy in general, i'd give all my organs to the red cross... and wait for the next life...

Actually, the world is in its best state and worst state yet. we have the ability to produce enough food to feed 2000 % of the population of earth, we dont because the countrys we would be feeding would just get more overpopulated, and more undereducated.
What happened when we entered the technical age is that almost anybody could live 70 years and have 40 kids, but we dont want that.

grr, hit the send button early...

Basically most liberal types believe we can create a utopia, I for one know that humans will be humans.... Some people are born dumb and have alot of rage, better schooling does not help it any.

Terrorism is just showing what happens when a single man has enough power, imagine if there were 500 trained pilot terrorists instead of 4 - 10 or so.

A very rich man can get ahold of naturaly occuring anthrax and certain antibiotics to help it mutate, he could manufacture enough in a few days to wipe out the human race. The process of making anthrax after the basic components are found is no harder then manufacturing LSD.

so no major wars happen for 50 years, and humankid believes we are living in an enlightened stage? in the past 100 years there has been a war between 2 or more countries at all times.

What happened last week was not good but maybe it can serve as a wake up call to the world. I think that we can kill off many of these terrorists and make it more difficult for terrorists to get biological weapons. I think that there are some cures for many of these epidemics however not enough cures, we need more. I'm really hesitating about bringing a child into this world. I don't know if I want kids. I don't like the world. It's too full of violence and pain. Infact can we honestly say that a biological agent will not be turned on mankind after what we saw last week? At least if they do that than we can send about 20 nuclear missiles at the middle east and wipe it off the face of the earth.
