"which is no different then any country that ever existed since the beggining of man."

so that makes it ok? Yes throughout history everyone did that, but no one ever learns from it, they probably came up with the same excuse you just gave me.

Plus, if you plan to go with one side in a conflict then you should face the consequences when the other side still holds a grudge.

    Here is a situation:
A country is at civil war. Instead of supporting the 'right' side and making the 'wrong' side even angrier why not help in other ways? Support the innocent civillians, build hospitals, send food and clothing. And stop any dealing with the two sides. Ignore them untill they realize what they are doing is not accepted in the world-wide society. There are many ways to help in conflicts than just sending an army and forcing a peace, because it does not always work. This would cutdown on breeding terrorism atleast.

America has the largest organizations that do this by the way (RED CROSS, Peace Corps, etc). Just to help you out in your naivety, I will let you know what happens to food, clothing and medical in these countries... one of the sides you speak of gets them.

What will it take to make you understand that life doesn't fit nicely in a package. For my friend, an American, it took eight long years in the Peace Corps. For one of my Finnish friends, it took years in diplomatic arenas. Maybe when you get older and wiser, you will lose some of this fantasy that you have toward the world.

People say such interesting things. "You need to go spread peace and harmony because I say so."

"Well what are you going to do?"

"I am going to sit in my lazyboy and play video games."

"Hmmm... that doesn't sound too fair... how can you afford such a luxury?"

"Because your American brothers and sisters protect the waters off our coast. Your ships frequent all of our ports. Your ships routinely protect our material shipping vessels during their journeys to Korea and other places. And your sailors pump millions of dollars into our economy every year after they get their fat military paychecks."

What world are you living in, kid? Perhaps you need to step outside of your house and look around. Go work at the Naval Base. Support your country with more than just empty, misguided speech. Then see where your viewpoint is...

Betazap, you did not get point. All I was saying is that there are other ways of 'helping' a troubled country than just deploying troops and forcing a peace.

"Just to help you out in your naivety, I will let you know what happens to food, clothing and medical in these countries... one of the sides you speak of gets them. "

I was talking about the refugees, the children without parents, the people who have escaped the country and have no place to go. I was not talking about sending supplies in a boat and then leaving it to whoever is in charge and then feeling good about it.

If you can, go kill the terrorists but dont go killing some kid's father who had nothing to do with it, and then the kid grows up with a hatred more powerful than the terrorists.

You are mostly talking about defensive military actions. I have not even metioned that anywhere that I am agianst that.

I am not against military service that is needed. I am talking putting your foot where you shouldn't. I am all for military defence. I am not for any offensive action that could be tried using dimplomatic actions.

Funny how you seem to think that I have no idea how the world works. Maybe I know too well how it works. I have been through a lot.

If it comes to fighting my own country, for my freedom, I would definetly do so. But I would rather learn and contribute to the evolution of mankind than the destruction of it.

no it doesnt make it ok but it is life and no, we will never learn. We are humans, we exploit other humans to make profit, they do it to us to, its called Capitalism.

OH, btw humanitarian crusaders America has donated more food clothing and medical supplies then any country on the face of the planet ever has. So, we have already done all the things that YOUR country hasnt done, wont do and wants us to do.

That is an unfair statement. He doesn't represent his country dude. He is just a member of it. Also, I know for a fact that the Aussies are a very giving country as a whole.

Let's not forget here that we are of the same mold... men and women of freedom. We are allies... together we stand, divided we fall and tyranny wins...

Beyond that... we are programmers. We know that our computers are a nation of its own. We are linked together by learning and a quest for excellence. Have pride my programming brothers and sisters!

    >Here is cleaner, safer and the weather is great. No one has a gun, not even the criminals. You can walk the streets at night in safety.
Can you say that in the greatest country on earth?
    Or is your paradise lost?
For IT staff, this little city is in the top 10 locations in the world. <

You're WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. There. Okay?

Without the United States, novacain, your remote little insignificant
part of the world would br cleaner, safer, have great weather
    and be speaking Japanese.
Compared to Australia, the United States IS Paradise. For IT
staffers , the U.S.A. is the Number One location in the world, which
is the one and only reason Australia even has an IT industry
to speak of. Without the U.S.A., you wouldn't wouldn't even
    know what a computer is.
    What an ingrate you are.

We have our problems here in the United States yes, but we
deal with them. You have your problems, too, which we also
deal with, not the other way around. This is what great nations
are all about. This is why people come here to escape tyranny
and totalitarianism. It's why people come here to find a better life. It's why they come here when their own country has collapsed
under the strains of war, pestilence, famine, disease, or any
and all the reasons why the immigration authorities in the great
Paradise of Australia refuse to accept them.

Australia :: Paradise? Australia's a desert, populated by dingoes,
aboriginal tribesmen, former British law breakers, surfers,
sharks, and last but not least a few IT workers who live off of
what the United States is gracious enough to buy from them.
The people of the Free World look to America for leadership and
direction; they look to Australia for their vacations. Lots 'o luck
    in your Paradise.

I am to lazy to go back and quote so I will just put my options.

First off, before helping those who have a good chance of becoming your enemy, you must help yourself and your freinds.

Second yes we gave weapons to Husan, but we also gave weapons to the britsh to fight the germans but they didn't turn around and use them agains ther own people, or other countes. Only for the resaons we gave them the weapons.

Third banning weapons would not realy do anything. Execpt guns would become beter and cheaper. Well you say the only use for guns, is to murder that is not true. First more guns used for self defence, not to go around murdering people. Second have you ever heard of hunting? Not people but animals? Banning guns would hurn the economy , or you goin to send monney to replace the millions lost?

Forth in war inocent people will die, you can not allow your emotins to over run you.

rick, you've really ........ed me off.

Australia is a ****ing great country mate, at least were not so goddamn pigheaded enough to believe we are the only country that is worth living in - no we're not perfect, but neither is America. Australia is not and hasn't been a ****ing dumping ground for British convicts for a 100 years! Our IT industry is small, but hey, we know how to get the job done. The only reason the US doesn't let us get killed is because we are the only major western country in the Asia region (aside from NZ). Otherwise you would have let us fall in WW2. The US is selfish, always looking out for its own interests. We give aid to many many countries, not out of self glorification, but out of human decency. We selflessly gave troops to help Britain in WWI, WW2, and we did so for you in Vietnam.

If I have to fight to defend my country I will - but never for America.

Funny, refuges either go to a neiboring country, or they come here. I guess they share are view .

Wrong again, you must be good at that sort of thing. We fought mostly for the china's in the pacific. China's are not the most western cultrure.

Wow you are on a roll with this wrong stuff . We risked american lives in Koosivo, even transpoted some of the refuges to America. Why? Because the refuges were being mistreated. I never heard of that country until then. We won't do something if it will harm our country, but so does yours and every other country.

BTW We fought in WWI, WW2, and Vietnam.

You know, Stealth, when I wrote those words I said to myself,
"rick, yer probably gonna ........ off stealth doing this."
Well, I did, and I'm sorry, but it's just that your man novacain

I said and I'm not gonna take back what I said unless he does,

Oh so that was the reason?

It's spelt Kosovo. FYI many Kosvars were sent here, in fact quite a great deal of them. Never heard of that country? Lol. You had to do something didn't you or else you would have fallen out of favour with pro-US supporters in the region.

BTW We fought in WWI, WW2, and Vietnam.
WWI = because civilian ships were being targeted by Germans. Otherwise you wouldn't have acted at all.

WWII = because Perl Harbour was bombed and you realised that America wasn't safe. Europe could have used your help before 41.

Vietnam = because the US Government wanted to stop communism. As if you cared about the South Vietnamese.

Look I don't have anything against the American people, but I do disagree with your government and its actions. I don't support the Taliban or Osama bin Laden at all. I just think that had Clinton of actually done something instead of getting head from overweight in-turns, none of this would have happened. The US new about the risks in Afghanisatan, and you sat back and did nothing. The Clinton Administration really did jack **** to prevent it from happening. Your leaders aren't perfect America - perhaps you should question them instead of just blindly believing everything they say. Futhermore, get off your high horse for a second - you aren't perfect and you aren't always right. The US isn't responsible for the actions taken by the terrorists, but they are in someway accountable for allowing it to happen.

What's said is said, so don't waste your breath apologising. At least you've got the balls to say what you think, but like novacain, you've taken ignorance to the extreme.
