About bumping one's own threads..

I was wondering, if ya got a thread, and you're the last one who replied, but now you got some new info about that thread, but you don't wanna bump your own thread.. is it better to start a new thread with your new info or just to go ahead and bump your old one?

Depends... If it's been dormant for awhile (like over a week, I'd say), start a new thread. But, if you discover something new that wasn't disclosed before, and it's been within the last few days, I don't think there's a problem with replying to yourself... It's thread bumps with things like "Why won't anyone help me?!?!" that are annoying, not "I fixed this, but now this doesn't work."

If you have new info that changes your first post, attach it to your thread. This way you don't have to retype everything, but just give an update.
If however, you are bumping threads for the sake of getting them on top without any new info, you're likely to receive some comments from us

Okay, thanks for the input guys. I actually got a very interesting (to me at least) finding to go put on the C++ board now hehe unfortunately tho I cant put it up till later.. heh.. long story.. but anyway I will when I get the chance.
