    Question about programming Careers

Hey everyone, I like to program like any other joe, and I find myself creating some pretty nifty code here and there. What kind of thing are employers looking for in a programming "portfolio" per se, or what technologies should you keep yourself familiar with in order to score the job as perhaps a debugger or something simple like that?

    Any ideas?
Sometimes I forget what I am doing when I enter a room, actually, quite often.

Where are you located? IT industry in the US has most demand for programmers with at least 5+ years of experience with Enterprise Applications development. Web technologies like .NET, C#, JAVA are always in demand. SAP development is highly sought after and pays very well. Thorough understanding and familiarity with RDBMS concepts and SQL are must haves.
