What if I, someone who already has an animated avatar, wants to switch to some other animated avatar? Would I be prevented from doing so or am I effectively grandfathered in?

Nope, still dont get it.
Until you can build a working general purpose reprogrammable computer out of basic components from radio shack, you are not fit to call yourself a programmer in my presence. This is cwhizard, signing off.

You could flip it the other way.

The possibilities are endless.
