I believe we are though. I'm also not into the details. But only way I can comprehend a game like that is if giant leaps are taken on the development of natural language processing and, as you pointed out before, game AI is able to cope with all the potential garbage/notgarbage that will be thrown at it.
It's the natural language thing that worries me most.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R is an other awesome game i play now and then. The story is not the best, but the game play is fun. Love the way they made it so hard to kill people. No more head shot with a pistol from 2^100 meters.
There are several issues I have with many of the user-made maps that make them poor in my mind: poor overall level design, poor/unimaginative placement of trees/bushes, lack of functioning mini-map, lack of displayed objectives on said minimap, lack of binocs/nightvision when starting the map. Also day/night cycle issues can be problematic.
Of the better ones, a recent standout is called Sniper's Nest. Overall level design is a bit too vertical for my tastes in the later stages of the level and it lacks placed objectives on the minimap but it is still quite good. Placement of vegetation is good and you start out with binocs and nightvision (I believe).
Another I liked is called Treasure although it has several of the factors which tend to put me off. I really liked the overall level design, it was very good as was the placement of vegetation although in some places were personally too thick with it. For nits there are quite a few though it is still overall enjoyable (to a point): there was a problem in that several large boulders are tagged as capable of being grabbed when you really have no business being able to pick up a rock the size of a car one-handed and tossing it around. You also do not start with the nano-suit although one of the goals is to acquire it (in pieces, not all at once)... this makes the map quite difficult in some places - even simply navigating through the map is harder if you cannot jump over a small ledge in strength-mode for example. There are no placed objectives on the mini-map which makes finding said nano-suit difficult (I spent hours trying to find out where it was) along with finding out where else you are supposed to go. This map has definite problems with the day/night cycle tied to the objectives (pick up the nanosuit and suddenly night became morning [for about 15 seconds before it went back to being nighttime]) made worse by you not starting with binocs/nightvision (binocs magically appear in your inventory upon completion of some objective). Even with all that, I still like it enough to give it a mention.
Devil's Island is one that is unfinished (still playable) that I found to be insanely difficult without quick saving often (lot's of bad guys). Level design was good, there are some nice towns/villages in the map and placement of vegetation is good. Day/night cycle appeared to be natural. Objectives are not complete as of this moment and I can't remember if they are on the minimap or not. There were problems I had with infinite spawning enemies at a couple points on the map - shoot one guy, another pops up in the same space... shoot that one and another and another and another.
I'm playing Valve's Orange Box at the moment. I'm eagerly awaiting Grand Theft Auto 4.
Oh yes, right now, playing the good old Metroid Prime 3. Good game.
Playing Utopia on the Intellivision II. My bro and I used to play it all the time, we got in a fist fight once because I put rebels all over his island after a hurricane hit it :D
You still get to brawl with your brother over a game in your 40s?

I'm planning on playing Mystera Legends in the very near future. The game's under reconstruction and I'm waiting to see what's new after years of being beta.
So yeah Assassins Creed just arrived, a day early. I would be feeling pretty damn good right about now, except that when I preorder a game I'm assuming that it'll arrive WITH A ........ING DISC!

I may as well have not preordered it - by the time they send out another copy I could've walked into town and bought one with all the other riff-raff who didn't preorder.
It was quite a long time ago that $50 meant something.
More and more I'm finding reasons to and seeking to do everything I can with cash or money orders (which are postal orders to some of you). I literally write one or two checks every month, and it's not like I use credit constantly. Makes me wonder why I bother with a checking account. After all, cash is just as good as money.
Heh. The game was OK for 360, but for PC I'd imagine it would have horrible performance.
