Alright everyone. I have made my first ever game with graphics. Here is my improved breakout clone. Many, many things have been added since my last thread about the game, therefor it needs a new thread. Again, only 1 level is here right now. Tell me what you think about the block collision and the level.
****EDIT****
See my later posts on this thread for the updated version
****EDIT****
you can get it from: http://leeman_s.tripod.com/leepong.zip
or alternatively just click the link below to get it from cprogramming.com

Halo,
Yep, it's improved greatly. But when you get the ball to bounce on the edge the sound dissapears and the ball just bounces back and forth continuously. What i suggest is that you can add a little, just a little little bit of random movement to the ball, so that you can retain the feature of controlling the ball's direction using the paddle ^.^.
By the way, did you use any books on game programming or such? Or just plain tutorials?

One more thing, the ball sometimes gets stuck to the paddle, and you can sometimes even push the ball on the edge of the paddle to save a losing ball. Here's the screenshot.

LOL thats a funny one...
DId you have a look at sources of breakout by other people before programming your own?

Nope, I didn't look at any source for help. This was my first stab at it. Not bad, if I say so myself :)
One of the reasons I couldn't look at other source is that I haven't learned about classes yet. Most other source for games like this involve classes, so I can't read it.
I find it works real well though, if you just think about it logically. Like think, what should happen first, then next, etc.
