If any of you rember a few weeks back I posted a message about my computer having startup problems. From the post it seems that over heating was the problem. Today I finaly got a case fan for my computer and it did not help.

Any other sugestions?

You can get a new (bigger) heatsink for cpu and a bigger fan. Also, my case supports multiple fans. (I.E. - I have a fan in the front and a fan in the rear of my case to keep the air moving through. This works very nice. You may want to try and keep the case off and see if this helps anything also. Good luck to you sir.

That would be a no-no if you have any cats/dogs/rabid bats (or even the standard release of bats, although alpha and pre-release versions are rumoured to be fine I wouldn't take that risk) in your house, dust can get in and cause chaos.

Fan from this company is great. One of it's model allows you to control the fan's rpm.

Describe the problem. Did you overclock your computer? If not then I don't think that over heating is the problem. Write me your computer configuration, ok?

or try the new fancy oil-submersion cooling technique :p i have seen it on tech pages, but it kinda freaks me out to have live wires in a bath of oil

umm... what do you think is in those silver cylinders outside your house that feed power to your house (aka transformers)? It's a coil of wire immersed in several gallons of oil.

Stick your computer in a beer fridge... It's been done.

Then where do you keep your beer?

I'd get water cooled if I could afford it

Why not just mod your case and add an exhaust vent on the top? I added a 120mm fan on the top to blow out hot air and then added 2 80mm's to the side for additional air intake, system keeps at a nice 82 degrees while cpu is at 98-104 depending on CPU load.

Or you could put it by the air conditioner. :p

or you could check out some pewliter (spelling?) cooling systems, cost about the same as a water cooling system maybe a little more if im not mistaken.

You know my mom has seen one of those oil filled transformers explode before, I don't think I would want one on my house. Test which components are over heating and lower the clockspeed if you have to.

if you could find a way to keep water distilled, you could completely submerge your computer in nice cold distilled water

Hi,

I'm sure that there is a program that can check and control the temperature of the harddisk , harddisk only. Sry can't remember the name, just do a quick search and you should find it.

Don't underestimate good ventilation and a nice cool enviroment's affect on the ability to properly cool a system.
