    What is the fan size?

Hi, I am thinking of buying a Intel Core 2 Duo E6750. I know they come with a heatsink and fan, but I want to put on a differnt fan so I can overclock it later on in my use. The only problem is... I dont know what size the fan is. I saw somewhere it was 80mm but I dont know for sure where I saw that and wasnt even sure if that sound right to me. I was thinking more of the lines of a 92mm. Any ideas?

Dunno... have you tried looking at intel's website? http://www.intel.com/products/proces...2duo/index.htm

They're bound to have it somewhere.

It's not about fan size, it's about volume of air movement (think cubic-feet-per-minute).
A larger fan will move the same amount of air at a slower RPM, and be a lot quieter about it in the process.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Usually, bigger fan = better. However, each fan has a different noise level, even if they're big and rotate slow. If you care about noise, then you should look up some reviews. This goes for the amount of cooling it does, too. But in general, the bigger the size, the better. Just make sure it can fit into your motherboard and doesn't conflict with anything else near the cpu socket.

... and besides the standard HSF that comes with Core 2 Duo processors doesn't allow you to remove the fan from the heatsink (not without destroying it). So you'll just have to get an aftermarket heatsink and they come in all different sizes. I would recommend either the Ultra-120 or the Tuniq Tower-120. If they're too big for your case, work your way down in size to the Big Typhoon and then the SI-128.

    That's my two cents.

I been looking at the other Fans/Heatsinks but I also saw this fan (here) and was wounding if there was a good cheap heatsink that can go with it? It seems like the other Fans/Heatsinks are ficks so you cant change the fans, or can you?
