As ideas go, this is right up there with smoking in a petroleum refinery.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Hmm maybe this is why I started receiving german spam mail like 3 weeks ago (the spam goes with an average of 10 mails / day).

It seems that they did not consider the following fact: people can read there emails from anywhere where there is a computer and an internet connection...

So suppose my friend is a terror suspect in the eyes of the germans, they send him a mail, he accidentally reads his mail on my computer, then I'm stuck with this mess.

I don't know it seems very far-fetched to monitor terror activities in such a way.

Also by telling this to the public the chances will get very slim for them to monitor someone in this way. (its the same with traffic police in Belgium, they sometimes announce where they will be to look out for speeding vehicles ...ofcourse no one in that area will be speeding that day :s).

Not really , just the fact that it can be done and fits nicely in the whole legal system.
Thats actually what worries me: #define terror_suspect ...

This reminds me of when I was a kid and my sister carved her name into the wall and got into big trouble. Being a sibling, she then secretly carved my a wall and told on me.

    It didn't work.

I would categorize this into the Sony rootkit group (they justified it as "it was for copy protection!").

This kind of thinking has reached the government level...
