wml is the langauge behind wap (wireless application protocol)
wml is Wirelss Markup Langauge and is in a way similar to html - only it used on wireless devices.

Considering that until i read your explanation i was wondering: wtf is wap? I would have to admit that i chose 'wtf is wtl'. Apparently i'm not alone though. It actually appears quite crowded over here in the confused section.

wml is similar to html in th respect that it is formatting language rather than a programming language. xml is very versatile and can be used to program.

read the spec at the link posted above
