    HTML Board

I was just thinking, that maybe an HTML Board would be good for the board, almost everyone on here knows it rather well. I know that this is about C not HTML, but it could just be a specilty board which would encourage more activity.

PS: Cheez, please don't reply to this thread unless you have somthing helpful to say. Thank you.

If we have HTML, why not PHP? Why not Perl? Why not Java, Python, and Ruby?

I think CBoard has chosen to have a specialty -- C, C++, and C#. If you want other languages, you'd need to go to a more general programming forum. For those sorts of questions, I like Daniweb.

I posted something a very similar here, only, instead of just HTML, a single board for general programming questions (of which would include HTML).

HTML? Immediately your recommendation can't be taken seriously, because why would anybody need help with just HTML? It's pretty much married with CSS; there'd be no point in talking just about the HT markup language. And then it's not so much a problem solving issue (there's not exactly a high need for critical thinking as there is a need to read documentation) as it is an issue of knowledge about obscure 3-pixel browser misbehaviors. People who are knowledgeable in C* and general programming thinking aren't necessarily likely to be knowledgeable in things like accessibility, future compatibility, design, flexible-width layout techniques, and the differences between IE 6 and 7. More likely, individuals who think they're knowledgeable will either (a) answer questions without warning about the side effects of certain design decisions, (b) make unsubstantiated claims involving web standards (esp. with respect to the XHTML fetish), (c) give answers that are broken, or (d) regard pastel-colored CSS layouts with floating menus as the end-all and be-all of web design.
There are 10 types of people in this world, those who cringed when reading the beginning of this sentence and those who salivated to how superior they are for understanding something as simple as binary.

I think the idea is rather useless, HTML in itself isn't complex nor can it do much on its own. A few tutorials manage to guide users. Plus you'd have annoying questions being asked over and over again.

Honestly, what makes you think asking for this board to be added is different than any of the other requests for new boards? Hell, at least when people are asking for a Java board, they're asking for a board for a programming language.

Perhaps the real question is... Maybe an assembly board? Since it really is highly related to C and C++

There is DOS programming board, though it's somewhat derelict. You just have to look for it. Hint: 8.

    Oh, nice find.

That's where we should stick all those posts by people using DOS compilers on Windows XP.

Looks like we're heading to a runoff between "No, it's too far off this board's topic." and "No, it would ruin the board." unless "No, it's too far off this board's topic." can pull over 50% of the vote.

    Just doing my part.
