    Backdoor.trojan Help?

So i was stupid enough to download this file in an email i did not recognize. I just wanted to see if the file had a virus(while i knew it did the whole time). I run virus scan on the file, nothing. I run virus scan on my computer and it picks up a trojan. Says it cant remove it, so i download the cleaner, a trojan removal program. Nothing, doesn't do anything. So now im stuck with this trojan, im not really worried, cause im sure nothing will come of this, but what if someday somethign does.

    any help?

ok, to clear up - you recieved a file containing a file you believed to be a virus from an untrusted source, and then ran that file to see if it really was a virus. Well i feel i have to ask...Why?

Virus scanners on the whole are unreliable, the methods cannot always detect viri.

What is the name of th trojan, the file it arrived in , the email content and source? Which virus scanner did you use and what programs have you tried to 'clean' it.

im hazarding a guess you use Outlook?

The trojan may be a zombiebot. Reporting thru IRC to its master and waiting for orders / updates. Used for DDOS attacks / remote admin of your PC. Will be dormant untill you are online / its master needs it. Get rid of it anyway you can.
