    CoD3 Wii

    Anyone played it?

I've been aniticipating it for quite a while and finally got it this morning.

Well last night I watched a video review (from IGN IIRC) and they mentioned that the game had "input problems in some areas".

Some areas? How about right from the start?

It "sticks", for lack of a better description. If you start moving left, you keep moving left and the like. It's like a kind of lag. Input lag.

Now, I know my Wiimote is setup fine because all of my other games are, well, perfect. No problems at all re control.

It's really frustrating. It seems to get worse if you pause the game; when you un-pause it it lags like buggery. Wonderful.

Anyone else having problems with it? I did a google search and didn't turn up very much at all, mostly just people moaning about getting used to the input system as a whole. I think most games use it pretty intuitively.

amazing the bugs they allow to creep into production these days... All that is left is to start selling a game that doesn't run.

Are you sure there couldn't be something wrong with the game? Not bad coding, I'm talking about it being defective. This probably isn't the case, but it's worth checking out IMO.

Just do what everyone else does: launch the Wiimote out of your hand and into the TV screen.

Already happened. X3: Reunion...so many bugs and memory issues that the game didn't run (without specs that far surpassed the recommended system requirements) until the fifth or sixth patch.

Mario, you should really give the wii a shot. It's tons of fun, and I know a bunch of people who don't even like video games that agree with me, too.

I can't be ignorant of the fact everyone says it is. But not before I upgrade my laptop. It's becoming pathetic already.

Wii's fun factor is a gimmick. There are only so many games you can shake a stick at (literally) and eventually, I think all their ideas will run dry and people will realize how much worse its graphics are. As for the PS3, I think they have A LOT of work to do if they want to take top prize. They'll need to revamp their firmware, get all the compatibility issues fixed, and finally release all the great games we've been hearing about! Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 5, Grand Theft Auto 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Devil May Cry 4, etc... once those are all released and getting their deservedly great reviews, people will flock back to the PS3 and Sony knows that.

I say by Christmas 2007, the ratio of PS3 to Wii to X360 sales will be 8:6:5. This will be because of Sony's better library, quality graphics, and inevitably decent price.

    > inevitably decent price.

You really think the price is going to drop that much in a year? Nintendo's shipping 150K-200K units to the US alone for the rest of the year, and they're still impossible to find. I really think it's impossible for the PS3 to overtake the margin Nintendo AND MS have in a year, especially with the crappy supply of the PS3, the price, and the fact that the reviews have been pretty poor, at best.

edit: And the graphics on the Wii aren't as good as the otehr two consoles, sure. But they're not selling it based on the graphics. They're selling based on the controller mostly, and I think you're underestimating the utility of it.

Sure it will... a year is quite a lot of time. The price of the Blu-Ray and Cell Processor will drop considerably, they'll be making money back on software, and with any luck they might actually make something from those online stores of theirs. By Dec 2007, I'd suspect they'd have no problems getting the prices down $299 and $399 respectively for the two models. The Wii will be under $200, the 360 will likely be $299 and I think by the end of next year, both of the latter consoles will have sold to their base audiences. Don't forget, there's still a lot of people that want a PS3 but aren't buying because of the price and availability.

This Christmas is the year of the Wii, next Christmas will be the year of the PS3.

I guess we'll see, but I really think you're drastically overestimating the price drop. $200 in a year? No way.
