If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

It wont do anything bad to you. I know what is in your mind, but you will need it soon to run some programs.

    [edit]
My package is only 1.57 MB and it will install all its needs.

    Why all the guff?

Should be what - few hundred lines of ANSI standard C or C++. There's nothing in the problem which warrants dragging around 1.5MB of vendor specific crap just to do a bit of text processing.

C'mon, produce a standard language version which anyone can compile for any OS!

Which UI works on any OS?

    [edit]

.NET is supposed to be portable, like Java.

Sure, like it will compile on Mac OS X or Linux!

The command line one of course.

    colourise input.c > output.txt
    Kinda thing.

Whilst it lacks the pretty colours of your interface (oohhh, aaaahhh), its simple and gets the job done, and is actually more useful in the long run as it is far simpler to integrate with other tools (including wrapping a GUI around it if you wanted to).
