There is a C# board, OK. But C++/CLI is nearer to C++ than C#. I have an idea: Instead of making another board for C++/CLI make shared board for C# ant it.

In a fair amount of detail yes:

Frankly I couldn't care less since I'm not the one who's going to have to move all
the threads posted in wrong forums
No No's:
fflush (stdin); gets (); void main ();
Goodies:
Example of fgets (); The FAQ, C/C++ Reference
My Gear:
OS - Windows XP
IDE - MS Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition
ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI
My new idea? Do you have a link to it?Has this not been discussed before?
That thread has nothing to do with this case. It says CLI is not C/C++ which is agreed. But we DO HAVE a C# board.

I say C#/C++_CLI and a C++ board.
Let me make it clear:I say C#/C++_CLI and a C++ board.
C (K&R)
C++
C++/CLI which is a C++ with .NET support. (with /clr it will be a .NET that supports C++)
C# A language based on .NET and has nothing to do with aboves.

You're missing the point, if you read the thread you will find that that your "new
idea" was discussed.
Anyway, there is a general aversion to the Microsoft languages on this board -
the C# board is very inactive, and although allowing C++/CLI stuff on it would
probably make it more active, do we need it? The question that should be asked
is:
If we were to support C++/CLI on CBoard, would it add to our already excellent
forum, or detract from it? Will it be helpful and informative, or will questions end
up going unanswered?
Hopefully we can answer that question. If C++/CLI was supported, I agree that
it should be merged with C#, but I voted to disagree with the poll because I
disagree with supporting the Microsoft languages on this forum. Hopefully that
clarifies my position.

No C++/CLI board. It has nothing to do with C++ as it stands now and is more about getting C++ to work with .NET than anything.
wut happened to democracy? (poll votes)
As much as i'd love to see a C++/CLI board, I agree that it has no place on this board. If you have a C++/CLI question, there are plenty of other forums on the internet which are focused on .NET languages.
EDIT: 3160 total voters?? Did I read that right?

C++/CLI questions would be best asked on the windows board, just like any other specific question to that operating system, just like win32 / mfc / whatever else. We don't need a whole board for one stinky command line option.
The C# board should be scrapped. It certainly doesn't get the traffic, and I don't think there's anywhere near enough expertese on the board to support it. It was just the result of some popularity contest, and now those people have moved on.
This board is in the top-flight when it comes to C and C++, but face it, if you want real C# support then you go find another board which deals specifically with that language, and which has a much higher concentration of experts to help.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
