    biorhythm

anyone remember the concepts behind this? i remember a long time ago when me and my syster had this book, 101 ready to run programs and subroutines for ibm pc, and it had a great program for it... i still have the book, for the pages are torn out... and i was thynking it'd be a great thing to do... she asked me about it recently which is why i'm interested... i'm still searching for it, but i can't seem to find anything of it... preferably the qbasic code! it was written by jeff bretz and john clark craig... thanks a lot for any enpho on it!

    -still searching...

Yeah, I'd love to have some kind of program that could warn me
when I had a triple low coming up. I could avoid my computer, take the day off from work and hide under my bed until it passed.
Then, when I was about to peak, I head to the racetrack, buy
me a program and pick out 6 winniers quick and easy. No headache, no fuss, just walk to the window and collect all my money. Yee Haa!

ahhh!!! basik!!! geeze, it's been a while!!! hey thanks... i ended up finding this... http://www.biorhythmcalendar.com/explain.html which helped me since all i needed was the period lengths... but just one more question, do all of the 3 sine translations start with their dy/dx positive [at birth] as well as start at zero? i'd need to know this so i can have everything line up accurately to fact... [you'd not want a triple up when in fact you had a triple down, ]thanks...

I wouldn't think so. If this is not just some New Age hogwash (a very big if, from my point of view) then these cycles would probably be hormonally regulated, as hormones are the predominant means of slow and long-term regulation.

So, I'd imagine the cycles would begin, at the most negative value and increasing, whenever your body began producing the hormones involved. On the other hand, if the "positive" is caused by lower hormone levels, it would probably begin at the positive peak when you began producing the hormone.

On the other hand, if this is just a modern equivalent of astrology, then you could start calculations wherever you want, because it doesn't mean anything anyway.

I can be quite sure it wouldn't start at birth. To the fetus, on a chemical level, the day of birth is practically the same as the day before and the day after. All the chemical processes that the newborn does, it has been doing for some time in the womb anyway.

wow, i'm surprised you took that as such a response...

my interest is such as follows... first it's purely mathematical... [it'd be fun for my journal program...] and secondly if it has any further implication i might adhere to then that'll suit all the moreso... i'm surprised how you've technically examined the idea of the moment of birth... i'm not searching for something that specific... any philosophy or scientific background for the matter can be avoided [or taken up] at my own discretion... again, this is curiosity! and i did find that it does start at birth [per day, not millisecond!] so how about the initial concavity? i have the wavelengths, all i need is the initial concavity and i'll be set! much thanx!

Cool, now you just need to rewrite it in C++ and port it to Palm OS.
