    > This doesn't stop them from building a profile about me for use against me at some point, but it sure makes it harder and less complete.

Use against you? What the hell do you expect them to do with it?

Would you care to try something and see for yourself what part of the fusstration is about?

    Symptoms.

    1. Every time you click on a link you get redirected. <from the search engine>
    2. View source code in the right click menu has been disabled
3 Open in new window in the right click menu gets redirected
4 When you do get to the site you wanted you get automatically clicked through to a new page.
    5. You get a new set of “Favorites”
6 You get 10 new tracking cookies with less then 40 link clicks.
    7. Your settings get messed up.

You are trying to find the name of the browser hijacker that redirects you clicks and how to repair the browser. You used spybot to remove the 10 new tracking cookies. You removed cool web search in safemode but you are still being redirected <see above symptoms> You regedited and repaired most of your reg <you believe there is still something there to search for> You have looked for .dlls in windows\system32 of known 9 hijackers none was found. You emptyed your tempinternetfile folder so you know that it is empty and that is not what has disabled your view source code right click menu.

You try 250 sites you have never been to before through the search engine after cleaning your system with spybot. So you know that the sites are not entirely responsible. The only common link is the search engine. 40 sites a day or so then clean system after log off. After determining that the common link <pun> is the search engine you decide to find what is causing these redirections and browser hijackings.

    Hang on to something.

Your search engine >> Right click hijacker + redirect
Your search engine >> redirect hijacking +browser

Your search engine >> Browser hijacker + right click +redirect

Search tried again with Advanced Search >> use only these words >> Browser hijacker + right click +redirect

Do you know how many sites that have the words “Right Click” in them without having anything to do with browser hijakcers? Even when you used the plus sign “+” that come up on the search results page? Even at that you find a few pages that refer to cool web search and mediaplex that you believe spybot got rid of. Among lots of pages that have nothing to do with what you are looking for. Do you know how many sites come up wanting to sell you a book on how to repair you computer. You have no idea if the information is in those books or not <catch 22> plus the cost of the books $89.95 an so on.
It is more than tracking cookies it is a browser hijacking. Antivirus scan found nothing. Do you know how hard it is to find something when you are getting redirected all the time?

That doesn't prove anything. I used google all the time and have virtually no spyware at all. I sure as hell don't get those redirect issues and right click disabling. Just because you have horrible security isn't google's fault.

I'm with cheez, I never have the problems you are describing and I use google at least 5-10 times a day. And thats with minimal security settings. Perhaps if you quit visiting cracking sites you won't have these problems

Heres my Google search for what you're looking for. Now explain to me how those ten pages it brought up are incorrect webpages for what you are looking for.

    This is a stupid discussion.

kryptkat - You are a moron and there seems to be no help for you.
jwenting - You need to see a doctor about some of your paranoia issues.

I can't believe you two are making this into a conspiracy about google.com. Really folks get a life. Name some other good search engines if you are so damn smart. Demonic eh? Now I've heard just about everything.

Where do you idiots come from and why do you continually pester us here at cprog? There must be a huge idiot farm somewhere where all you people are bred. Please, do us a favor, and return to the nest.

What total idiots. Normally I don't respond like this but really you leave me no choice but to flame you and slap you for being well...stupid.

So if you don't like google.com then don't use it. Otherwise STFU.

And all of the above issues just proves to me that you need to do the following.

    1. Pack up your system.
    2. Take it back to the store.
    3. Stay away from computers because you are too stupid to own one.

And stop using the CD-ROM tray as a drink holder.

We need a STFU smiley. Please...pretty please.

Are you sick of the interne3t?

Are you sick of websites that don't contain the information you want because you have bad spelling, or don't know how to use search engines properly?

Everytime I connect to the intern3t, im faced with millions of websites that I don't want to visit. Many of them are even selling things, and advertising. These companies are breaking laws.

Everytime you connect to the intern3t, ISPs actually recieve YOUR personal information.

If they have this information, who knows what they're doing with it?

Some websites even display illegal content. There should be settings on the intern3t to prevent the user from accessing these websites.

The intern3t puts viruses on peoples computers.

The intern3t is a bad idea.
