    Fbla ?

Hey any of you guys in FBLA?

I signed up for it just because its gonna look on a College resume, and because a few of my friends signed up and they kinda got me into this. But then i realized that among the competitive events they have C++ Programming.

I was just wondering if any of you guys are/have been in FBLA and know what the C++ Programming event is like? Do they actualy make you write code or just ask you questions about the language?

    What the hell is FBLA?

It doesn't look good if no one's heard of it.

    Exactly!

My teacher said it was like a nation thing, and they had it in all schools (9 - 12th grade only).

I guess maybe she was wrong.

For the winners they have scholarships and money prizes, and she was saying something about winning your own business. They just give it to you to manage and you keep all profits and stuff.
Last year my friend's brother whos was in 12th grade won a lot of money for College.

Yeah my school had it. However, I'm REALLY surprized to hear they have a C++ event.

yeah, I was in it... and yeah, there was a C++ competition... but from what my friends said (they went, I didn't), the competitors weren't up to the challenge (at least at the state level)

Im rather more interested on how it all goes down.. like is it questions that you have to answer (Ex. What does while( ) loop do?) or is it like a contest where everyone makes a program and they compare them on speed, code readabily, comments and stuff like that.

The C++ test was pathetic in that at least 10% of the questions had errors in them. Some had two answers, some didn't have any answers, many had syntax errors, and an extraordinary few where actually Java questions!

I know all the inner-workings of FBLA; I was really involved at the chapter, region, and state levels. FBLA is a huge joke. It teaches you how crappy an business organization can actually be (most businesses are like this anyways). But if you win at the national level, it looks really good on resumes.
