I have a cable modem, so I don't really care how long it takes for me to download a page, so I say a flashy hard to download page. These are the coolest looking.

Well... given that I only got a 56K at home, 'hard to load' and 'still slow' don't sound too exciting... COOL is a good word, I vote for that... sometimes 'boring text' is actually what you're looking for... sometimes it's just 'text'.... like this page... not too plashy, is it...

You should make a website viewable for a broad range of resolutions, connection speeds, and browsers. Don't take for granted that everyone will have a 21 inch monitor, running @ 1024 x 768, using Internet Explorer 6, with a cable modem connection!
The best web designers out there aren't those who have mastered Flash or Fireworks - but those who understand the key is to have a decent looking site that can be viewed more or less the same anywhere.

Just because a page utilizes flash... doesn't mean that it is hard to load. Flash allows you to load as you go, so to speak, and people that do it creatively keep low end users. Using a loading application is a good idea so that people don't hit the end of the road before the road ends.
I have seen some flash enhanced sites that actually let you play a little game while the flash application is loading. I thought that was rather clever....

A: Any site with the info i want. The easier i can get that info, the better. I hate having to search around for things.
Dito. Every page loads up in a matter of seconds regardless of whats on it. But stuff where the Java Applets of other scripts are causing the page to hang while it loads up, usually cause me to close that window and try somewhere else. I'm kind of impatient online.
