When a band becomes more popular they aim their music at what the fans want and what will sell the most instead of making the music from their own style. Not all bands turn to crap, and the music I listen to for the most part is main stream but when I say mainstream I mean the bands that have made the change described above.Originally Posted by Govtcheez

My favorite bands are AFI, Against Me! and Alkaline Trio.
In reality though, I listen to anything that sounds good. It's better that way than how some people choose to be closed-minded about music and shun other genres besides their favorite.
I too listen to anything that sounds good and the fact all of my friends are so closed-minded when it comes to music is annoying. None of them like some of the things I like, and I admit I sway a lot towards rock, but there are many other songs I listen to from other genres. Check out my list.
