    Unhappy Leaving the cboard..

    Hey everyone ,

After around 3 years of experiencing different programming languages then settling with C\C++ and VB.NET , i found that i wasn't born to be a C\C++ programmer like i thought. I knew that for a while , but i was "scared" of admitting it , because i've spent so much time on learning these things. But it's never too late , and i wouldn't want to end up wasting even more time on something i don't really want.

I found that server side scripting , HTML\CSS , layout\banner designing and web development in general IS my "thing". It has the programming , the interactivity and the designing which is what i've always wanted , especially the designing part.

Turns out that i was learning C\C++\Vb.NET just to challenge my self and to prove that i can do it , not because i enjoy it.

I haven't been posting here lately , mainly because i spend most of my time on a web development-oriented forum (sitepoint). And after my decision ; i don't have a reason to come back for the C\C++ board for help or to provide help anymore. It won't make a difference really , but i just wanted you all to know .

Thanks for everyone who helped me in my stay , your support and patience were superb. Keep up the good work.

I might not reply after posting this thread , i'm gonna try the "log out" link for the first time , but thanks in advance for whoever cares

    Best regards ,

Yeah, I'm the same way. Some of the old guys are anyways. Not everyone here plans to be a lead programmer at an established local company.

I'd choose web developing, or even something less agressive computer-related office work. If it pays OK and gives me time to have a fun life that's all that counts. Putting in experience in something computer related will open doors to when you find something you're passionate about and want to get serious.

I've been getting my feet wet with cars lately. I picked up an 89 Taurus SHO(fastest SHO year) which is a shockingly capable engine(rev tolerance of approximately 12,500 RPMs with mods). I'm not on the computer as much, though I still sit on it for hours when I have nothing better to do.

Oh, and I'm working on tanning! OMG WTF LOL.
The world is waiting. I must leave you now.

Why don't you just stay here and post anyways? I like assembly and C#, doesn't mean I can only post in assembly and C# forums; it just means I shouldn't be giving advice on C(++).

Try linguistics, Brain. PM me if you want to talk about it - I'd love an arabic speaker on our linguistics forum, and the IRC chatroom is very popular, so if you see this, PM me

Most of us shouldn't be giving advice on C or C++. But as long as my brain vomit somehow gives people insight, I'll keep posting it.

Heck, I haven't touched a compiler for a while. granted I do have interests in C++ programming, just im too addicted to games to start learning something other than basic C++.

I still stop by the forums a few times a day to see what's up, just hang out in gen discussion with us.

Brain seriously, good luck, but please do standard css/html, and not broken pages with browsers sniffing, like all major portals!

Brain Cell, I haven't posted in the C/C++ boards for months... maybe years. I haven't done much of anything in C since college (2 years ago). Yet I'm still here. I post in the tech board and GD. If not posting in the C/C++ boards makes you an invalid member, I should have left a while ago. 90% of the work I do is web programming, yet I'm still here.

Whatever you do BC, good luck. Unlike some, you have always been civil and polite. Worthy attributes in any profession.
