Total geek out moment - just ordered a new laptop

As a "present" to myself for making it through my first 2 years of school and being halfway to finally getting my Bachelors at the age of 30, I decided to get a new system to replace my 2-year old Inspiron 5100.

    Here's the specs:

    Dell Insprion 6000b
    WinXP Home
2 gHz Pentium M Centrino (supposed to be much faster and stay cooler)
    2 GB of RAM
    60 GB HD
    128 MB vidRAM
    24x CD-R/DVD
    Built-in wireless
15.4" screen (same as my current)

(plus the software / perifs I already have
    Adobe Creative Suite Premium
    Corel Painter 8
MS Office Developer 2003 w/Frontpage & SQL Server
    Wacom Intuos3 6x8
    Microtek A3 11x17 Scanner

and I'm on cloud 9 right now.

if it took me 12 years to get through my first two years of college I wouldn't have any money to spend on a laptop. Or maybe you went back to school?
    Hmm

Your laptop has a virus: 'WinXP Home'

Sounds like a cool laptop want to trade?

BLASPHEMY! Begone from my C board, you foul lover of objects, before the gods of C cast you into the void as punishment for your weakness! There is no penance for saying such things in my presence. You are henceforth excommunicated. Never return to this house, filthy heretic!

Yeah. I went straight into the Army after high school. I just started going back to school in 2003. I'm using my GI Bill to pay for my tuition. So, I'm not as broke as I would've been if I had gone back when I was 18.

Bajanine, I was THIS close to buying a Mac, but I have a lot of expensive software that I don't care to buy a second time to get the Mac versions.

    Supply Sergeant.

And, Nazca, I do a lot of digital art and the files can be over 200 MB before I resize them for printing. I probably would have been good with 1 GB, but I figured It'd be better to go ahead and max it out now.
