> However, anakin was turning evil the whole time, that was just the finishing of it.
Well, yeah. Anakin had been one step away from total psycho since like halfway through episode 2.
> I didn't like how R2D2 had all of these abilities he doesnt have later, like the jets, shooting out oil and whatnot.
Yeah, but I didn't think that was that big of a deal. He never really had much of a reason to use them in the other movies.
True...he didn't have much of a reason...nor did it turn out to be a jar jar...just a slight annoyance.
I guess it doesn't help there was some kids behind me that laughed their asses off every time R2 was a smart ass or did much anything.
I just thought of something, if Luke was hidden from his father on tatooine, why in gods name did they keep his name Skywalker?????? Seems kinda stupid.

maybe 3 times since I run the movies and stop by and watch parts of it all the time
Oh right, one thing that did irritate me was R2D2's constant jumping, when he exited the spaceships etc... That just seemed so wrong and out of place.
> I guess it doesn't help there was some kids behind me that laughed their asses off every time R2 was a smart ass or did much anything.
I had the exact same thing in my theater :( They also went nuts when any of the soldier robots said something silly before they were killed.
> why in gods name did they keep his name Skywalker??????
I was going to say the same thing, but didn't want to keep editing my post.
> That just seemed so wrong and out of place.
In the old trilogy he gets out of the XWings with a crane or something. I justified it by saying maybe the XWing was too high for him to do that out of. If that was the case, though, he could have just used his rockets.
The reason I keep watching it is because I run movies at a theater. I have messed it up twice...when they say long leader they mean long heh...that was a big surprise for me. Oh well, only messed the starting of it up.
Maybe they kept his name Skywalker because anaking skywalker no longer existed. On top of that if the sith did come they would be able to sense his presence and a name wouldn't mean much anything.
> Maybe they kept his name Skywalker because anaking skywalker no longer existed.
I'm sure the emperor just forgot his name, too.
The majority of the people did not equate darth vader as anakin skywalker. If they don't know that name then it wouldn't matter, even still luke was in an isolated area of tatooine, most likely not seen by many visitors looking for jedi.
I dunno, some inconsistancies I wouldn't blame on Lucas or the third movie like Luke moving in with his uncle and not changing his name or Obi-Wan not recognizing the droids. Its a problem with the movies coming in the order they did and Lucas not knowing in the 1970's what he would be doing 25 years later. Can anyone think of a way they could have possibly explained these problems without 75% of the the viewers rolling their eyes?
I agree though, the whole comic relief segments from R2 really bugged me, thank god it was limited mostly to the beginning. The stupid comments from the droid army just seemed really out of place.
Also...who would take in a babie that wasn't even related to them like that? If obi-wan walked up and said "here, take this babie because I said so", would they? It would make a lot more sense to say "Here, this babie is related to you and both parents have died, will you take it in?".
Also...there are many droids in the galaxy...how would obi-wan recognize a single droid? there are many models like those and the chance of them lasting that long and coming back to him are pretty slim.
Plus, living as a hermit in the desert for at least 20 years has to affect your memory ^^.
> Also...who would take in a babie that wasn't even related to them like that?
Senator Organa didn't have much problem accepting Leia. They could have easily put him up for adoption or something like that.
> The majority of the people did not equate darth vader as anakin skywalker.
So? The majority of people wouldn't have been looking for them. The Emperor would have been.
> Also...there are many droids in the galaxy...how would obi-wan recognize a single droid?
The only reason he was on Tatooine was to watch Luke and wait for something to happen. He was doing things involving those droids for years before then. I don't remember seeing any droids in the movies that looked like 3P0 or R2, either.
This was taken care of in Ep 2. Owen's father married Shmi. This made Owen Anakin's brother. "Uncle" Owen is what Luke called him and it was actually true.Quote:

In 1 and 2 there was a bad comic relief element (jar jar and 3po) and in this one, R2 worked well. The acting seemed more real. You cared about the characters more. It was great. As a sci-fi movie that has kids as one of its intended audiences, what even compares? I can't think of anything of its type aside from the original trilogy.
