    Why do people all of a sudden feel the urge to perpetuate upwards of 3 Bill Gates related threads on GD at any given time?

    As long as "any given time" is "right now and at no time in the past", you're right.

    Also, this thread sucks more balls than Liberace and Paris Hilton at a ball sucking contest.

    Stop hating. Bill Gates has done what everyone else in his position would have done. I know i would have done the same. Capitalize while you have the upper hand and then buy out everyone else, whats wrong in this? Its called business and its called "the first-mover advantage"

    Definition:
    Code:
    first-mover advantage
    The edge that a company gains by entering a particular market before any competitors.
    When no one helps you out. Call google();

    You're all a bunch of pinko commies. I refer you to my theory on political tastes seeping into the Operating System market:

    Windows (Republican) - Traditional business values placing more emphasis on 'security' than user-rights.
    Unix (Democrat) - The trendy "power-to-the-people" approach. Comes in a million flavors.
    Mac (Green Party) - Some interesting ideas, but really, don't throw your vote away.

    And then of course the mainframes are the founding fathers.

    Nearly?

    Anyone happen to stumble upon the thread from a few days ago that got deleted within 10 minutes of being up? About the soul-saving creme or whatever it was.

    Personally, I think Bill Gates should quit the Microsoft thing and go into modelling.
