Frame times really mean nothing. Some work units take longer to process per frame than others, so there's no real point in saying how fast yours is going. More effective to say the estimated time 'till completion.

37 CPUs... he obviously has a few more resources than me. Oh well... I'm kinda stuck at the moment since my PC is down with a bad PSU (although my wife's computer should still be cranking... but they've both been off for a bit now).

Aye...Xterria's a little out of my league. I would have thought you were too, Ober; I didn't really expect to gain on you. It'll be fun to watch the race.

Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm. - Jack Klein

Well, my PC has been down for nearly a week... same with my wife's, so I haven't done any processing until about last nite.

As to the points-to-WU ratio, I only have a vague idea. I'm averaging about 285 points per WU. I'm using the graphical client. I'm using the lowest possible core priority and I've got my CPU percentage set to 100%. In the Config menu, under the Connection tab, I've checked the "Allow receipt of work assignments and return results greater than 5MB in size" box.

I wonder how much that 5MB size thing makes a difference... I have mine turned off and I seem to be averaging a relatively low score for each WU...

I'm pretty sure I have it switched on for mine (and I get pretty good scores for each WU)

It actually makes quite a difference. You get smaller WUs and the points add up faster. I only ran for about half the weekend, but my scoring is waaay up and I did a lot less WUs than I normally do in a weekend.

EDIT: I sooo want to see us get within the top 1000 teams

No... just seems to be a noble goal. I'd like to see us in the top 500 teams, but that's going to take a while and I don't think we can catch some of the top teams... hell, Google has more than 20,000 processors active. Even General [M]ayhem (another board I belong to) has close to 14,000 processors active.
