    Windows XP Pro Problem!

I just want to know if you've had this problem:

I have a CD inside the CD-ROM drive. Windows explorer is not running, and I change the CD.

I go to My Computer, and the label of the previous CD hasn't changed. I doubleclick the icon and I get the same files as in the previous CD. I try to run something in the CD, but I get a "File not found" (duh).

So, I have to, My computer running, open the CD drive, and close it again. Only then it works!

I have professional and it works totally fine for me. That does not happen to me. Maybe it is your CDROM.

I have a Creative CD-RW blaster 8432, and Windows recognized it properly!

    I don't know what's the problem!

Sounds like a hardware problem. As there are no OS level CD-ROM drivers, I'd suggest getting a new CD-ROM.

GET A NEW DRIVE? are you insane? it costed me 3 months of savings! and I bought it 4 months ago! I would rather stay with the problem but with my CD-RW drive!!!

the drive is not old, I'm sure that it's not the solution, I'm sure that there must be a good solution!

Nah, Windows XP is just trying to be smart. It fails, but it tries. Just right click in the My Computer window and select "refresh". This is not an uncommon problem, especially in ME.

Windows has a list in the reg of the CDROM drives that it does not play well with. If you have one of these...

Try to ensure you have the auto insert notification ON.

Osk, I have that problem sometimes with Win98SE. I just hit the F5 for refresh, then the computers reads the CD again and displays the actual contents of the CD.

Yeah, I guess using your CD-RW would be easier. Sorry for the stupid idea Oskilian
