    Re-introducing my stomach to food

    Hello,

I'm having a bit of trouble with my body. Last night we went out and drank at least 2 double shots too many. I managed to convince the police that we weren't as drunk as we looked and got home safely, went to bed.

Unfortunately my stomach was then full of partially digested (I think) alcohol and my bloodstream had absorbed all it could. Repeated calls to my kidneys failed, so I "segfaulted".

Luckily for me the kernel panic took the appropriate action and I managed to fall into the bathroom in time. That was nearly 12 hours ago (During the night). I've since "segfaulted" a couple more times, but I'm okay now. I've drunken a fair amount of water but it's difficult to get any particular nourishment in me when my stomach still convulses at strong smells. Also my balance hasn't fully returned to me.

Any ideas as to how I can get food to go in and stay in?
Sorry if this sounds gross, I'll never drink again...

It won't hurt to stay away from the food til you are a little more stable. Keep at the water. Can you handle some kind of soup?

Gatorade also works pretty well, but pickle juice? I've heard that before but I can't imagine wanting to drink that, especially when just moving makes you want to die.

Anybody have the experience of a nice hamburger from A&W making you feel better? That has worked for me before.

it works wonders bud...but it has to be the juice from pickles in brine. I almost never get an upset stomach after drinking, but if I do, picklejuice helps. Also, you can drink it right after loading up on alcohol before you go to sleep.

But I see what you're saying; if you don't like pickles to begin with, then it probably wont help much.

Greasy food helps for some reason, too. Denny's has saved my life on numerous occasions. Maybe it's the same principle as the pickle juice; it's so disgusting-sounding that it comes back around the horn and is good for you again.

The first time I got completely drunk I could not even drink water the next morning. I had to suck on ice cubes till I was hydrated enough to move. Ah fun times.

Of course that was followed by the trip back to the base (can you say bright lights bright lights) and going through the gate and leaning away from the guard as I hand them my ID. Oh yeah and it was in the desert.

The first time I did I woke everyone up digging through the cooler looking for pop. I haven't had many bad hangovers lately, though (except when I drink on a weeknight... ugh)

Thanks for the advice guys. Tried a bit of bread earlier, but I was chewing it for like half an hour, guess I didn't have enough saliva to deal with it in a reasonable time.

I went with the fast/greasy food option for dinner. Worked like a charm. Took a little while and I couldn't finish it, but the grease lubed up my stomach lining and made everything OK. Scary cholesterol intake, but hey, you only live once.

as long as I keep my BAC below 0.20 I'm fine the next morning.

bringing a breathalizer to parties is always a hit too.
    Hmm

Pickle Juice is just an old gag to see who'd be stupid enough to drink the stuff.

The same gag is used on people who have to go give a UA.
