    Oh come on... This is GD. Everything is random.
    The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.

    I couldn't resist. What if there actually were a meaning to this thread and I'd missed it?

    Then cboard would go down again. See webmaster says that it goes down for this or that reason but in reality it goes down because someone posted a thread in GD that had a point and the server just couldn't handle it.

    the goldren ratio:

    13/8

    or

    987/610

    It is the solution to:

    x = sqrt (1 + (sqrt( 1 + sqrt(1 + etc

    which is equivalent to:

    x^2 = x + 1,

    Read "The Golden Ratio" by Mario Livio

    edit:
    Interestingly enough, all of these numbers that are irrational and do not repeat as a whole contain every piece of data stored on every computer in the world. I don't suggest trying to find it...might take you a while.

    Any of you know anything about the things Dan Brown mentions regarding the number Phi (1.618) in The Da Vinci Code? Very interesting if any of it's true.

    Not read the book, what does he say about it?
