*sigh* dunno how many times I can say this, but rick's site has bandwith problems. Rick, if you're reading this, you NEED to get a new host or something...if you just want to visit the main site, you can go to http://flashdaddeesfreehold.com , but you can't view the board from there. Oh well

I think the culprit this time was rick deleting the main site in replacement for flashdaddeesfreehold

We're moving fellas. Hang on. I'm trying to get a hold of Chris
now. When the site is back up, I'll explain everything. We're
getting a new host asap. So hangon and please bear with us.

    Thanx.

Goddam, I don't think I've ever been so frustrated. This is a
real disaster. I can't access the new site yet because I contracted
for a virtual host instead of the regular kind, whatever that may
be. Anyway, virtual hosts are name-based only, which means
I can't access the site via ip address. I'm in the process of trying
to have the namee server transferred to the new account,
but I'm having problems looging on to my domain account. So,
they are emailing me a new password. When I finally get the
name server transferred in a day or two, the web site will go
online. Chris said he can have the forums up in an hour or less.
It's my assumption that the posts cannot be saved, and there
will be no access to the old forums. I had a 30-day money back
guarantee with feature price and I'm invoking that in a few minutes. So what I think I'm telling you is the flashdaddee's
forums will be starting from scratch. I just checked the
feature price site and it is still down. This is my fault and I
apologize and hope all the fine people connected with
flashdaddee's forums will have it in their hearts to return when
the site is back up and running. If you were a mod at flashdaddees please remember what forum you moderated and let me or Chris know. Also any help recontructing the forums
as they were will be greatly aprecieted. Actually, I guess I should just keep trying the site until I get back on and copy down the info. That's what I'll do. Man, you cannot imagine how frustrating the past two days have been.

Rick.... You ran the forums on PHP leading to MySQL right?

If so, you can backup what you have and transfer it. I think you can make backup tables with SQL commands, but if you have full access to the database, you shouldnt have a problem.

Go to MySQL.com and see the manuals they have there.... they seem quite detailed. I think as long as the database is flushed and closed down, you should be ok...... I hope anyway. I dont know jack about PHP, but I suppose the customised skin you have for the forums can be transfered also......

Have a look at the site.......

I always used to watch transformers the cartoon when I was a kid. It was wicked. I say everyone should have that avatar made into a tatoo.

LOL Rick you ran into some bad luck, just go with the flow and don't let it stress you out too much. Im sure it will be back up in no time.

Yeah, my oldest boy was weaned on Transformers. He even
named his puppy (long since dead) Prowl. He's 23 years old now,
and he's still buying all this Transformer stuff and whatnots
on ebay. He shares a 20x20 room with a younger brother, and
on his half you cannot see the walls for the Transformers, still
in their original packaging. He has enough stuff to start his own
store. I think he and his soon-to-be wife still have the original
dollars from their allowances. I can't knock them, though (even
    though I am), they're loaded.

You should address this to Chis, Fordy. I have no experience
or expertise with MySQL. I've addressed this issue with him many times, and he's adamant in stating the DB can't be moved.
He hasn't ever been wrong in the advice he's given me, so I
don't doubt that what he's saying is true, unfortunately. That's
what really hurts about this. I wouldn't give a damn if we could save the posts. Remember when cprogramming upgraded to this
place? They didn't bring the old database with them, did they?
    Same thing.
