    Why do we get so many Java evangelists here?

    Please if you like Java or think it's the best thing since sliced bread.....don't discuss it here.

    We have about a trillion threads discussing C/C++ vs Java and they all read about the same.

    We are a C/C++ board and therefore C/C++ is the language of choice, it is the only language of choice, it is the best language out there, and it is the most powerful.

    Just like if you are in the army and they tell you the sky is green in boot camp....the sky is green.

    Here the language is C/C++.

    Ok, C# but I think that board has invited the Java-ites to come here and blast us.

    I agree. I too am tired of all of these Java vs C/C++ threads. But when you say that it is the best language out there, you must also tell us what the language is best for. Java is better than C/C++ at some things and C/C++ is better than Java at some things. People just need to live with that. Good programmers don't code in one language, they choose which one is best for the job (that is, unless your company explicitly tells you to use a specific language, you get no choice).

    Since the two are so closely related and used quite easily together....I think you are a bit off in your comparison. But I haven't used a lot of asm recently and the more I get into DirectX the less I use it unless I want to do a fast software texture to texture write.

    But we haven't had asm and C discussions saying that asm is better than C. Those discussions were more pointed toward the fact that learning asm will help you become a better C programmer. Java and C++ have little to do with each other and should not be used together IMO and they do not enhance each other nor work well together.

    I've never started a thread comparing C to assembly because it would be ignorant. But in some of my examples I do use assembly but as I said I've been trying to stop that especially on this board. And I didn't post in that first article because I have no intention of comparing C to assembly. Both are awesome.

    So, if you don't like my assembly code then shut your yapper.

    j/k
