Last week my brother calls me to tell me that a friend of mine in Utah was in the hospital. He had been hiking in the mountains and gotten lost. He managed to call a cell phone that had not worked for several weeks, and has not worked since. Shortly after getting through the phone went dead. His parents started looking for him. He had slipped off a cliff breaking both his wrists and shattering his left arm with several fragments puncturing the skin. 1 rib had gone punctured his lung, his neck was sheared straight through, and his skull crushed on the top. He gets up, and walks 3 miles to the nearest house, and tries 3 doors before finding someone. 3 days later, his neck is X-rayed again, and it has healed itself. His lung inflated and pushed the rib back in place, a 3 hour surgery fixed his skull, and both arms are healing at a rate the doctors have never seen before. They were expecting sever brain damage, but this morning he was reportedly getting a tad cheeky with one of the nurses, who didn't bring him the apple juice he had been promised BEFORE his pills... lousy nurses...
