This doesn't prove that I was inaccurate, it proves that I remembered that there are 5 required prayers. The fact that "most pray a lot more than that" doesn't prove me wrong.

So that means that there definitely are some that can in fact do it yearly, which means I wasn't totally "wrong".
In the context of the point you were trying to make, you were wrong in so far as your point was to prove an extremely spiritual way of life -- one trip is a lot different from yearly.
All in all, I've done pretty damn good getting my facts straight...notice that the only one here who seems to know more is the one who wants to convert.
How do you figure that? First off, nobody else here seems to have a great deal to say, so you hardly have a large sample. If you know more than that, you haven't showed it, and I imagine that the education level of this board's community is high enough that most people knew the facts you pointed out. (I didn't know the bit about Muhammadism -- although that one seems to be the least relevant to your argument, in any case.)

Rude eh? Maybe I should've said "I hope you get your ass kicked" instead of "I hope you DON'T get your ass kicked", because I sincerely hope he DOESN'T get hurt over this, because the last thing anybody needs is to get hurt.
His surroundings? He does, in fact, live in the United States I assume...
I don't know where he lives -- even if he lives in the United States, some communities are more accepting than others. Even if you were sincere, I think the fact that you made the statement is rude because it implies that you know more about his situation than he does -- even though you don't know him personally, and the only thing that you know about him is that he's fairly young, you feel the need to give him what I thought sounded like a "warning". In the context of the rest of your post, including the bit about being "thick" , it made you come off -- in my opinion, mind you -- as at best condescending.

    edit:

    ...to things I didn't post...

    edit:
I would also like to mention I received a private email from another elder on this site expressing things similar to what I've said about Ev, so it's not like I'm alone here.
If you aren't alone, then I feel better posting this on the board publicly rather than PMing or emailing you because I don't think you are being fair.

I was born; I shall die. Between those two events there is life. I don't know why, and I don't question it; I merely live.

This is already a far gone conversation heading nowhere, so I will do the right thing and end it.

    You have a nice day.

and, I did not post who sent me the private email, nor what this person said. Rest assured, it really happened, what was said was quite brash, I actually defended EvBlade somewhat, so any attempts you make to single me out as the big mean bad wolf won't work.

    Howdy,
It was me. And just for the record Wanabe's really bug me. After you convert and live the life style for a while then come tell us about it, until then sit back and learn.
Now to the point, Fanatical anything is terribly dangerous, I had a conversation with a muslim man about "U"BL and his thugs and the way I understand the Islamic religion he was raised in in Pakistan one of the primary sins is to kill inocent people i.e. 9/11. Second primary sin is killing anything. So before you justify the actions of these radical, fanatical terrorist types study up.

    M.R.
I don't like you very much. Please post a lot less.

    *and then*
No, I know you were joking. My point still stands.

You did not have to come forward, in fact I wasn't even asking for it.

And, I do mean to stop the silly argument I was getting into.

So before you justify the actions of these radical, fanatical terrorist types study up.
Which is exactly why this young person, Blade, may be in danger. Other people will see him as sympathizing with innocent American deaths. We can't get our hands on Bin Laden, but, they can get their hands on him.

Agreed, whether it be an extreme political view or gruesome act.

    @vNvNation:

whoah, this has gotten out of hand. I wasn't trying to rub it in your face, or even say that you were wrong, I just know that it is a very touchy subject and I wanted for everyone to be perfectly clear on a few things cause I have seen people go off nitpicky in insulting religion.

"U"BL and his thugs and the way I understand the Islamic religion he was raised in in Pakistan one of the primary sins is to kill inocent people i.e. 9/11. Second primary sin is killing anything. So before you justify the actions of these radical, fanatical terrorist types study up.
well, he was right in telling you that, but didn't say the whole story. The Qur'an allows for killing in the case you are defending your homeland/faith, but it is person for person, not 100 people for some hamas leader(all people are equal, and therefore equal retribution). Also, one is supposed to give mercy to an enemy if they give up fight and seak peace; in fact, it could be said that a muslim is supposed to work towards peace if there is in fact a possibility of peace.

EDIT: also, about the studying up, I understand the radicality of some sects of Islam. I tend to be a fundamentalist, so all of the doctrine I agree with, after a long thoughtful study( what is actually in the Qur'an, not what individual sub-cultures have added).

In the end, if one sees fit to have a debate about religion, I recommend we all do it over PM, Email , simply because it would get locked if we went out on it on this board.

Which is exactly why this young person, Blade, may be in danger. Other people will see him as sympathizing with innocent American deaths. We can't get our hands on Bin Laden, but, they can get their hands on him.
thanks for your concern. I understand how much trouble I can get, especially in Arkansas,USA ; however, for me, faith is stronger than the risk of getting oppressed as I can simply move to an area where muslims are not persecuted.
