    IE virus~

    one of my friends found his IE will automatically pop up another window when he input something in address bar and press enter, notice that the browser will not pop up that virus window only when he input some address in address bar of IE and press enter, he consult me for help and i scanned his registry for that bad address and IP but didnt find any clue, anyone could help on this ???

    thanx but is there any way need no installation ? it seems better if we can remove the virus and add no burden to our machines. anyway thanx~

    That is not a "burden".... it checks for spyware. It's good for anyone who wants to protect their computer.

    edit: This smells of someone trying to get around a security feature built into someone else's computer. If this is malicious, please stop what you are doing.

    actually, i've had the same problem recently, if i have IE open, just sitting there, popups will just randomly open up. I've ran spybot, ad-aware, hijackthis, virus scanners, and nothing seems to get rid of it, so i just use mozilla all the time now, heh

    Kazaa installs spyware that will cause popups.

    yes its WinXP, and does it matter whether Messenger Service enabled or not ?

    not if they are in internet explorer itsself. Messenger is the same as Winpopup() for 9.x machines, and doesnt actually use internet explorer but rather the messagecreate function in windows.

    Sounds like some sort of spyware.
