I think I'll pass until Canada legalizes murder--because everybody knows permitting copyrighted file copying, marijuana use, and homosexual marriage will inevitably lead to it or so says Rush Limbaugh.

Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

That study will be conveniently ignored by record execs.

I think Canada is being smart. It's impossible to stop people from sharing music. If you just allow it, it will cause less trouble. Plus it really isn't as big of a problem as people make it to be. Record companies make so much money due to the overpricing of cds. I'm glad they are getting what they deserve.

I agree with ZakkWylde. The music industry and m$ are not too different; M$ complains if they lose one penny (even though they have tons and tons of money) and the music industry does as well.

In fact, it wouldn't suprise me if M$ owned the music industry

Spelling MS with a dollar sign is really very clever.

I am sure they lose more than one penny, and I am sure it amount to lot's of money lost seeing as all of their programs are up on P2P networks, MS isn't the only company it hurts. After all though, it's not the programmers bein hurt as they are paid by the hour, not by how many units sold so I guess the execs are the ones losin.

however, since MS makes the products, they DESERVE the money. If you don't want them to have the money, then do not buy their stuff, but do not go through piracy though.

Yeah, but Linux is so hard to install and use, waah! I know someone named Bob who tried to install Mandrake once, and he said it asked him a lot of confusing questions about things like what "hard drive" (what do computers have to do with cars?) to put Linux on and then when it was installed there was no Start menu! How can you even use a computer when there's no Start menu on the bottom right corner of the screen?

In the end, he got a virus- and spyware-laden copy of Windows XP Pro from someone online named WaReZ4DoLLaZzz. Now he even gets Viagra spam in his physical mail because of all that spyware.

The problem with most people is that they act like most people on welfare, "waah, the RIAA makes billions of dollars and I am not affecting them by pirating so it is ok to steal". It doesn't matter if it costs them one cent, it is still stealing, you are taking a copy of music that actually does have a tangible market value. And, since everyone knows that music on the p2p networks is not given out by 50 cent and britney spears out of the goodness of their heart, you are recieving known stolen goods when you download and are just as responsible by law as the thief(this is why if you go to someone that you know has stolen rolexes and buy one, you can be put in jail along with the thief).
